Its all there, but with a good deal of gray.
If you had one year free of all responsibility and unlimited funds, what would you do?
Study science and religion, ski and travel.
What are the most rewarding things that you have done in your life?
Becoming a husband and father, volunteering in my church and community, getting my license to practice Architecture, getting two college degrees.
What rewarding things do you plan to do in your life?
Raise my children, be a good husband, travel more.
What are your favorite non-family related things to do in your free time?
Church work, skiing, hiking, bicycling.
How would you best describe your idea of "being successful?"
Being able to do whatever work I choose at whatever time and place I choose.
What are your most vivid memories of your days in Ridgewood?
Ice skating, bicycling, lunch at the top of the stairs, Mr. Gabola's drafting class, Mr. Thompson's AP Chemistry, Mr. Hughes' Physics, Ms. Ward's English, Mr. G's Calculus, Mr. Bloss's History (vivid doesn't always mean good), New Players Company.
What achievement or activity are you most proud of in your life?
Welcome House, a transitional housing facility for formerly homeless people that I designed in Atlanta, because it represents my best as a designer and activist.
What single piece of wisdom would you like to leave for the next generation?
Be the person you would want as a friend, the person you would respect, and the person you would trust with your life.
How have you changed since high school?
I have really come to understand the privilege we grew up with and have learned some humility about how easy that has made it for me. Also, I have had sex.

I am an expatriate Yankee living in Georgia for the past 22 years.
