None currently other than helping out with my daughter's varsity diving and gymnastic events

Current hobbies and interests:

Running, biking, swimming (retired from Triathlons), reading novels, National Geographic, NY Times, watching the NHL on OLN & following the shenanigans (I'm being kind here) of the current US administration . . .

What percentage of your hair is visibly gray (is this a trick question?)

What hair?

If you had one year free of all responsibility and unlimited funds, what would you do?

Travel some, eat and sleep well. Take my kids on some great trips one at a time, then together, then as a family. Also, I'd throw a huge party somewhere on Cape Cod for our class.

What are the most rewarding things that you have done in your life?

Having great friends like Neil, Mitch, Billy, et all. Bicycling through 37 states, 5 provinces (Canada), 9 European countries and the UK. Staying married and raising my 2 children to present teen years. Watching my 2 grandmothers live into their 90's (and still going). Summer camping on Cape Cod. Visiting my Dad and his family in Thailand with my family before the Tsunami . . . chasing pucks on 2 continents and then on and off thru 4 decades.

What rewarding things do you plan to do in your life?

Continue watching the kids grow, Become a Grandpa. Retire with Karen somewhere fun and hopefully near at least one of our kids. Watch our country recover from the disaster of the current leadership in Washington.

What are your favorite non-family related things to do in your free time?

Bicycle, see a great movie, visit the library, watch college & NHL playoff hockey or the Tour De Lance. Also enjoy a beer, a good meal and then go for a walk.

How would you best describe your idea of "being successful?"

Having a healthy, happy family and be able to spend nearly every night with them.

What are your most vivid memories of your days in Ridgewood?

Vivid? Nothing that far back is vivid for me sorry to say. But I do remember hanging out with the gang at the park across from GW and one afternoon our impromptu soccer match of misfits against the GW team. There are too many to mention at the O'Neill house. Also, slices of pizza at all the joints in town and long walks to and from High school (thankfully some of those were along the way). Learning to fix bikes with Bill Mahoney in his driveway. He is a bike guru and one of my heroes.

What achievement or activity are you most proud of in your life?

See bicycling, children and chasing pucks above under “most rewarding things”. Also 5 years of volunteering at Children's Memorial Hospital in Chicago before my kids came. If you have to pin me down to one it would be seeing my two terrific children grow to the present.

What single piece of wisdom would you like to leave for the next generation?

Travel while you are young and able.

How have you changed since high school?

I'm a lot older and a little wiser. I don't eat as much (most days).

What else should we know about you?!

I'm still an independent liberal who cares about this great country of ours and who is totally disgusted with our current leadership. Can't wait till November!
