Joseph Simanek "Joe" Thompson

Joseph "Joe" Simanek, age 48, died peacefully on Tuesday, January 10, 2006 at his home. Born in Ridgewood
he lived there most of his life until moving to Glen Rock 4 years ago. Joe was Chief Financial Officer with
El-Ad Group of Manhattan. Joe had a lifelong passion for sports and was a skilled athlete. He played varsity
basketball and baseball for Ridgewood High School and continued playing competitive basketball and softball
for most of his life. He won respect, admiration and praise from his family and friends for his accomplishments
on and off the field. He was very proud of his wife and children. His devotion to them was exemplified by how
much of a priority he made them in his daily life. Joe was also blessed with many friends and spending time with
them was one of his great joys. Beloved husband of Christine "Kippy" Lenahan. Loving father of Jessica and
Christopher. He is also survived by his dear father James Gerard Thompson, Sr. and his wife Louise of The Villages,
FL, his sister Catherine Wetjen and her husband Thomas of Pittsford, NY, his brother James and his wife Monet of
Allen, TX, his brother Kevin and his wife Mary of Bowling Green, OH, and his sister Diane Schwarz and her husband
Jon of Ridgewood. Also many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother Catherine (nee Simanek) in 1987.
